Maria Graziano is a painter, printmaker, and expanded media artist based out of Alfred, New York. She graduated with her BFA from Alfred University in May of 2026 with a minor in art history. In her recent Senior Thesis Exhibition, Alternative Function, Graziano focused on unconventional value, and how function, desirability, and beauty can shift when bodies and structures continue to exist beyond their intended purposes. Through the use of interdisciplinary practices including painting, printmaking, and digital processes, she creates densely layered compositions that combine the organic form with altered and imaginary spaces. Graziano continues to challenge the traditional ideas of utility, celebrate transformation, and appreciate the unconventional and overlooked. The Alfred Invitational will be the 13th exhibition in which Graziano has been a participant. Â
