About me: 

After earning an MFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, Lisa spent many years working in clay, creating among other things, a line of decorative ceramics exhibited nationally in galleries, and countless art shows. Additionally, drawing and painting have remained part of Lisa’s practice. She says, “drawing keeps me honest, painting pushes me toward discomfort, and clay is forever humbling”. Currently her studio is in central New York, where she and her husband are renovating an 1800’s farmhouse. 

About my work: 

The figurative imagery I’m obsessed with weaves in and out of reality. An interest in the emotional life of animals helps to maintain ambiguous story lines. Sifting through stacks of daily scenes in my head, I’m after a certain stillness that holds an energy too wiggly for its quiet moment. In these imaginary worlds of flora and fauna there is never just one way to look at things.
